Professional caregivers – What training do they wish they had?

January 20th, 2014

What I found so interesting about this list is that caregivers want training about Alzheimer’s and Dementia more than anything else. Yet, this is probably the area in which they are providing the most care. So what does this mean? Do our caregivers have the skills to perform the jobs that they are already doing? Are organizations sufficiently training caregivers before they enter the field? Not surprising to hear that caregivers want to be actively learning and that this promotes employee retention. I wonder how many residences and home care companies provide on-going training and support. For the originating article see http://www.prweb.com/releases/topten/caregivers/prweb11498218.htm
